Cognitive assessment in VR
Developing a gamified VR calibration tool that leverages biosensors to improve the accuracy of cognitive and emotional assessments, enabling personalized VR training experiences.
The use of biosensors in VR/AR/MR training applications and training simulators to assess the cognitive and emotional state of the user is on the rise, reflected in a fast-growing market share for both hardware manufacturers of biosensors as companies offering internal and external training support. However, the accuracy and reliability when interpreting psychophysiological signals for a specific individual are often still poor. This can be attributed to inter-individual differences, which are not taken into account since no individual calibration occurs before the training.
With this project, we delivered a functional prototype of a gamified VR calibration tool that allows assessing multiple cognitive abilities. This data can not only be used to assess users but also to personalise subsequent VR training programs.
