CYCLOP
A Clean Room Suit Sensor Box
Elevating operator well-being through empirical validation of next-generation cleanroom attire.
Since the introduction of Annex 1, attire for cleanroom operators is required to fully cover the skin and face of the operator. This increases the challenge of working in cleanrooms even further. A full coverall increases the levels of CO2, humidity and temperature within the coverall which decreases the level of comfort for operators. This results in strict regulations reducing the duration operators can work in these circumstances.
In this project, we collect data to validate the effectiveness of the new Cyclop device created by Alsico. This device introduces a continuous flow of fresh air into the coveralls. We measure levels of CO2, humidity and temperature during simulated cleanroom environments. Initial tests show that the Cyclop reduces the levels of all the above measures. This increases comfort for the cleanroom operator which in turn might increase productivity and flexibility during work hours.
